IQ Tests purpose

Intelligence quotient tests have different purposes of use. Starting from personal desire to choosing employees and making life decisions.

Historically, intelligence testings were developed for cognitive research. IQ tests were used by scientists to study behavior of people with different levels of intelligence in different situation to make diagnosis of cognitive disabilities. Bat later on IQ tests were increasingly used to determine the ability of a person to solve difficult problems, perform complex tasks and occupy leading positions in science, business and corporate management.

Another reason for testing is personal desire. In this case, people take test because of own interest, friends recommendations etc. But, sometimes, people take tests for life decisions, to understand which field of study is better for them to choose faculty or university, in which area develop yourself to attend a job.

If we will go back in time, during World War I (Read more in article IQ Tests history) every recruit passed selection IQ test to determine the ability of person to serve in certain types of troops or hold command position. Nowadays, a lot of companies require IQ test results from applicants. So, another purpose is choice of employees.
